I specialize in senior executive roles within charities, social enterprises and other not for profit organisations.  My own background is in the not for profit sector, where I’ve worked for over 20 years, most recently as Development Director at Barretstown and Managing Director at Kanchi (the creators of the Ability Awards). Finding and retaining talented people is one of the greatest challenges this sector is facing and I’ve worked with Focus Ireland, Amnesty International, the Trinity Foundation and the National Maternity Hospital Foundation, to name but a few, to place senior fundraising and management professionals.

In addition to working with Alternatives Elect as their not for profit specialist in executive search, I also consult on fundraising and income generation strategy and I’m a Board Director of Fundraising Ireland and Arts Disability Ireland.

The not-for-profit sector has changed dramatically over the last 10 years. With greater professionalization of charities and the rise in social enterprise, the sector now offers a broad scope of opportunities for dynamic leaders seeking a rewarding and fulfilling career. Today’s not-for- profit leaders need a mix of private sector skills and not for profit values to ensure that the sector continues to bring value to society and support the most vulnerable. For those with this crucial mix of attributes, there are significant opportunities in this exciting sector. Finding great people for this rewarding and exciting sector is both a privilege and a pleasure.
